This developing trend, it scares me

Dear Reader, I must apologize for my lack of blog posts this week. Iceland exploded, and so did my life. Two sick children and a stranded family member later, and we're still recovering.

Do you remember a while back, when I posted a confession about a song I had stuck in my head? A ridiculous, pop-synth rap song? The good news is that the song eventually went away, and everything returned to normal, internal-background-music-wise. My id, ego, and superego heaved a great sigh of relief.

The bad news is that ... well ... it's happened again. And this pop-synth rap song is no better than the first. Dear Reader, send help. (Fair warning: this video features scantily clad, gyrating females.)

Okaaay ... Luda and Taio, I don't even know where to begin with this. I mean, if I ever met either one of you in real life, I'd have to slap you both on general principle, for the sake of all womankind. At least the grammar is mostly correct. It has that going for it.

Another song I've been humming all week: Timbaland's "Morning After Dark." This song is more skillfully executed, in spite of the cheese-tastic pop-synth background. But this video ... oh my. You have to see this. Seriously. Buckle up, Dear Reader (it's safe -- there are no scantily-clad gyrating females):

Things about this song and video that make me giggle:

(1) I get it, we're talking about the club scene and the emotional "vampirism" that results in and from random hookups. But the fact that Timbaland is capitalizing on the Twilight craze is hilarious. He might as well have dressed up the "vampires" in the video in Volturi robes and made their skin ~sparkle~.

(2) The storyline itself: three hip-hop artists protecting a lovely young Italian girl. *Giggle-snort*

(3) Timbaland really should see someone about that weird eye affliction. With all that blinking and rolling, you'd think he had a bad case of pink eye.

On that note, I'll be back with a Progress Report and a Bootwick update within a few days!
